Yoga with Horses at Nirvana Equestrian is a unique ground-based experience that blends gentle movement, breathwork, and mindfulness with the calming presence of horses. This experience is practiced entirely on the ground — not on a horse — allowing participants to fully connect with the environment, their breath, and the quiet awareness horses naturally bring.

There is something deeply calming about being near horses. Their steady presence, quiet energy, and natural awareness encourage us to slow down, breathe more deeply, and reconnect with the present moment.

Experiences may include:

  • Gentle yoga-inspired movement and stretching

  • Guided breathwork and mindfulness exercises

  • Quiet connection and grounding alongside the horses

Together, yoga and horses create an experience that feels less like a traditional class and more like an opportunity to reset both mentally and physically.

Mindfullness, Presence & Emotional Calm

Yoga naturally encourages awareness, balance, flexibility, and relaxation. When practiced in the presence of horses, those benefits often deepen in meaningful ways. Horses are highly responsive to human energy and emotion, helping participants become more mindful of their breathing, movement, and emotional state.

This experience is intentionally designed to feel approachable, calming, and welcoming for all comfort levels. No prior yoga or horse experience is required.

Participants are gently guided to:

  • Release stress and physical tension

  • Improve balance, body awareness, and flexibility

  • Reconnect with breath and stillness

  • Experience emotional grounding and calm

  • Slow down and become more present

  • Connect with nature and the horses in a meaningful way

The atmosphere is relaxed, supportive, and centered around presence rather than performance.

What a Yoga with Horses Experience Looks Like

Sessions are designed to flow naturally between movement, breathwork, mindfulness, and quiet interaction with the horses.

Experiences may take place in the barn or outdoor spaces depending on the weather and season.

A typical session may include:

  • Guided breathing and grounding exercises

  • Gentle stretching and yoga-inspired movement

  • Mindfulness and relaxation techniques

  • Quiet time near the horses

  • Guided reflection and presence-based exercises

  • Opportunities to simply pause, breathe, and reconnect

Participants should wear comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing that allows for easy movement, along with closed-toe shoes appropriate for a barn environment.

At this time, Yoga with Horses is offered as a special event-based experience, with the potential to expand into a recurring summer program based on interest.

At Nirvana Equestrian, Yoga with Horses is designed to create space for something quiet and meaningful to unfold — through movement, nature, mindfulness, and the calming presence of horses.
